Botzam, Inc Releases Botzam™ Backup, a security utility for PalmOS devices

June 18, 2002, Woburn, Massachusetts – Botzam, Inc., a new company founded by handheld industry veterans, has released Botzam Backup. This innovative product is aimed at providing the user with backup and security protection beyond what comes with their palmtop device. Botzam Backup is designed for all PalmOS devices and will backup data and applications onto the expansion cards.

Botzam Backup supports many features including scheduling, compression, and encryption. It supports all major PalmOS expansion technology, including Sony MemoryStick, Compact Flash cards, and Secure Digital cards. A demo can be downloaded from www.botzam.com.

“Botzam Backup is a big first step in providing the handheld user with protection and security for their palmtops” said Mark Lussier, Chief Technical Officer, for Botzam, Inc. “Protection and security are key elements in making the transition from organizer to enterprise device. The features offered in Botzam Backup protects against accidental data loss and provides secure backups to the handheld device. As these devices are integrated into a network or mobile phone, the prevalence of hackers and viruses becomes a much more acute problem and the chance of data corruption increases.”

Botzam was founded earlier this year by Mark Lussier and Lorraine Wheeler. Mark and Lorraine were the founders of Actual Software, the makers of MultiMail. Actual Software was purchased by Palm in May, 2000.
